We do not experience the visual cues or interpersonal relationships from classmates and professors as
in a traditional environment, but we do have well thought out
responses from one another. More importantly, teachers are not the center or focal point of the learning
environment. We are not the empty vessel having information
poured into us. We independently organize, interpret, and reflect on learning and take on the responsibilities
of teachers. The visual cues are forfeited and replaced by
mediated, tangible and permanent dialogs that can be revisited time and again. From this we can agree
that online conferences do indeed provide the same or better
levels of learning.
